A simple man – poem/lyrics from Foothold of Tethys

Some Foothold of Tethys this time. I just found I wanted to share this. 🙂

‘He had been just a simple man
born way back in the line
who according to the people
never stood much in shine.

He wasn’t much to look at
as plain as the eye could see
as he cleaned out the waste pipes
in the old section B.

When the man passed to the soil one day
very few were filled with glee
very few even remembered him
as he wasn’t one to be.

But only few months later
then came the big disease
infecting man and child alike
only death would give release.

Upon discovery of the cause
they quickly found vaccine
and only then did they recognize
just what the man had been.

Though rarely in the graces
and toiling in his strives
this humble man that no one knew
had been guardian of their lives.

They honored him and praised him
and brought his name to light
and from then on saw every man
as equal in their right.

He wasn’t much to look at
as plain as the eye could see
as he cleaned out the waste pipes
in the old section B.

Each man is most important
a cog within the wheel
the wheel that turns the family
and runs the engine steel.

Even though you might find yourself
in the way back of the line
each is his other’s equal
and shares all in the shine.

He had been just a simple man
born way back in the line
who according to the people
never stood much in the shine

He wasn’t much to look at
as plain as the eye could see
as he cleaned out the waste pipes
in the old section B.’
